Synopsis
When war broke out in 1914, Italy decided to remain neutral, even though it was part of the Triple Alliance with Germany and Austria-Hungary. In Spring 1915 Italy joined the Allied powers after signing the Treaty of London. But Italy's entry into the First World War didn't start as they expected and by the end of the year losses were mounting along the Isonzo River.
